Skill Stations Explanation:
During the skill station sessions, all 72 campers are divided into six smaller groups of 12 kids each, organized by age and skill level. Each group rotates through various stations every 20 minutes. These stations include:
- Dribbling Station: Focus on dribbling techniques and control.
- Passing Station: Develops accurate and effective passing skills.
- Shooting Station: Enhances shooting form and accuracy.
- Footwork and Athleticism Station: Improves agility, footwork, and overall athleticism.
- Tactics Station: Led by Coach David, this station covers basketball rules, strategies, and game analysis.
- Dribble Warrior Station: Features fun activities like relay races and dribble knockout games.
Campers are divided into groups by age and skill level to ensure balanced and effective training. The groups are as follows:
- Group 1: Ages 7-8
- Group 2: Ages 8-9
- Group 3: Ages 9-10
- Group 4: Ages 10-11
- Group 5: Ages 11-12
- Group 6: Ages 13-15
The camp can accommodate up to 72 players, divided into 6 groups of 12 players each.
On these days, instead of regular skill stations, campers participate in skill challenges, relays, and competitions. These activities include:
- Shooting Competitions: Test accuracy and speed.
- Skill Challenges: Obstacle courses similar to NBA All-Star challenges.
- Athleticism and Speed Competitions: Measure acceleration, speed, and agility.
At the end of the week, there is an award ceremony where all players are recognized for completing 30 hours of basketball training. Additionally, winners of the competitions and standout players (MVPs and Most Improved Players) receive trophies and medals.
